"Romney defeats Santorum by 8 votes in Iowa"
(Who the hell is Mitt Romney???)
Ain't he a handsome swell fella
With coiffed salt and black pepper hair
A god-fearing man of good breeding
Who wants to show all that he cares
His pedigree's solid as marble
And yet I don't want to trouble you
One thinks it a weird coincidence
His dad's name is also George W.!
This one's as smart as Palin was dumb
Which isn't a hard thing to be
He's a cum laude grad from THAT Harvard
With both MBA and law degree
He spent most his life doing business
There wasn't much he couldn't fix
His Midas touch always paid off well
Yet profits and layoffs don't mix
He's known as the "turnaround artist"
He can make something good from bad shit
The Salt Lake Olympics for one thing
Owes most their success to ol' Mitt!
It shouldn't surprise that he's Christian
In politics it is a given
He's proved that he wants to help others
Towards good moral clean Christian livin'
He ran to be Guv of Mass'chusetts
Riding high off his Olympic success
He ran as a moderate progressive
50% of the voters said "yes"!
He ran that state like it was business
Increased fees with tough spending cuts
Deficit turned to a surplus
To do that it takes more than guts!
His signature achievement in office
Was to bring about health care reform
It was the first of its kind in the nation
Such thinking goes way beyond norm!
But Mitt's not a secret left liberal
He switched from pro-choice to pro-life
He doesn't support same-sex unions
No marriage unless "man" and "wife"!!!
His past soon caught up to him badly
As he tried for '08 nomination
His past as an issue flip flopper
Did not help his vote situation
Despite his effective fund raising
The election was lost to McCain
But he didn't waste time feeling sorry
Mitt joined his opponent's campaign
There was talk of his being the VP
For he with McCain became friends
But John found himself a"game changer"
And we know just how that story ends
So was this Mitt's hoped for redemption
With margin so thin it could crack
He's barely considered a threat now
Obama's not watching his back
There's many who don't see this ending
With a strong candidate for the right
But we'll not know who's gonna be president
'Til the votes are all tallied that night!
