The banana split is a perfect food
Who'd a thought it'd taste so good?
First you start with the firmest fruit
A tinge of green must blush the root
It can't be over ripe nor brown
If it is mushy then put it down!
A good banana seals the deal
And that's this dish's great appeal!
The ice cream is the second thing
In fact some think ice cream is King
But it's a base for other stuff
To me vanilla is good enough
You can go with any topping
With imagination there is no stopping
Chocolate, berry, or what you crave
Sweet pineapple is my fave
Coconut and caramel
Sprinkles always look real swell
But what will make this dish a dream
Is luscious mounds of pure whipped cream
Drizzled with more chocolate sauce
Nuts applied with careful toss
And how to make this dessert so V-E-R-Y
It's topped with a red glossy cherry
And as you eat this pure dee-light
Relish each and every bite
For no dessert can charm the masses
And add more inches to our asses!
